Construction Payroll/Accounting Associate

The ideal candidate will perform the organization's union payroll and other miscellaneous accounting functions.  The payroll/accounting associate will be responsible for processing employees' paychecks, ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations.  Accounting functions such as billings, monthly reconciliations, data entry, and other various opportunities are available.


  • Ability to understand and manage various elements of union wage determination that are crucial to comply with predetermined rates.

  • Process payroll efficiently and accurately each week.

  • Maintains and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential.

  • Support the accounting team in month-end closing procedures by engaging in monthly reconciliations of accounts.

  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll updates, including new hires, terminations, and changes in pay rates.

  • Set up new customers, vendors, job cost codes, etc.

  • Monthly data entry for accounts payable purposes.

  • Other accounting opportunities to be determined.

  • Efficient professional who is deadline-driven while maintaining attention to detail.

  • Team player with flexibility and adaptability across multiple departments when required.

  • Ability and drive to learn new tasks and skills.

  • Experience using Microsoft Excel

  • Experience with construction union payroll is a plus.
